Andrew Frenchik ap human geography census map analysis.
The map is on percent of people in the U.S. who are 65 or older. Patterns show that there are more 65 or older U.S. citizens living west of the mississippi. More concentrated in the mid-western part of that section. Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska have some of the largest amounts of 65 or older citizens. Regions with lower amounts of 65 or older citizens are east of the Mississippi, and Rocky.mt. Ohio, Georgia, and Indiana.
The percent where there is a major amount of 65 or older citizens, is located in less populated regions. Near farm land and near the wilderness. Most likely when they retire the citizens want to go to a peaceful, and quiet part of the world. Thus being away from major cities.
Politically, this could impact the way they vote. One political party might to lower taxes and raise health benefits. This meaning cheaper living for the retired. Also helps out the country financially, from what would just be vacant land now turned into a tax opportunity. Also could give false cause, from the point of that if you're in america, you’ll live in a wonderful retirement home, so come live here (to immigrants).
